My husband had been years ago and described it as a big barn with slot machines. So - we decided to take the short two hour drive to Eagle Pass to try out the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino.

My mother-in-law was turning 75 and she really wanted to go to Vegas for her birthday - but with a recent surgery - that was not a possible trip at this time. It used to be fun but because of them controlling how much we win, we’ve decided not to go to Kicapoo Casino. This experience has been happening for the last several visits. We try different machines and different ways of betting, but we don’t win. At the beginning, when we get there, we start winning, but shortly after, we can’t seem to win. My good instinct and suspicion is that we’re being monitored very closely and are followed throughout the casino, because they know we are winners from previous visits. I can see luck sometimes changing for one of us, but not for both at the same time, and remaining bad. Not only do we spend a lot of money at the Casino, we also spend a lot on the trip itself. Neither my wife or I have come with a win. But now, things have changed, not only this last visit, but the last several visits. Sometimes we lost and sometimes we won, which is understandable. We have been going to this Casino for a long time. We have been to the Oklahoma and Lake Charles casinos but always come back to Eagle Pass! My dear wife even composed a poem for me when the Casino was closed for Covid (see picture).The atmosphere and cleanliness is great. They have also managed to balance COVID precautions with 'having fun' so you can 'have your cake and eat it too' or something like that. they greet you at the door, bring you drinks and always make you feel welcome. Even when our luck was going the other way we always wanted to come back. The gaming is fantastic and if you are patient you might make enough to fund a good part of a new car (we did). such a gentleman who always made us feel like we were coming home. The folks there are very personable and we are sorry you will not get to meet Leroy (Bell Captain) who recently retired. The spring is best for the wonderful flowers and such that surround the casino on the drive in. Sometime treat yourself and stay in one of the King Corner Suites (get the river side.

We LOVE this place and have been coming since 2013 when the hotel was constructed and the casino expanded.
